Dogfish Head My Antonia collaboration with Birra del Borgo coming in April

dogfish-head-my-antonia[1/5 Update: Just received an email from Mariah at DFH- “Squall IPA distribution will be expanded.

We also have Namaste coming out this summer which will primarily be draft sold at our brewpub, with a small bottling run available from the Milton brewery. (we brewed this last year as a Brewpub Exclusive beer).

We will be bottling the ‘Wrath of Pecan’ beer we brewed with the Alstrom Brothers of Beer Advocate for the Extreme Beer Fest. The bottles will be available at the brewery during our Weekend Of Compelling Ales & Whatnot on March 12/13 (details coming soon!)]

(Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head has posted up its official 2010 calendar and the brewery has a new beer hitting bottles this year. So far, My Antonia has only been available on draft in select U.S. spots but will now join the “Occasional Rarities” series. Here is the beer description straight from DFH:

“Sam brewed My Antonia at Birra del Borgo (hope you can read Italian) outside Rome, Italy with owner/brewer Leonardo DiVencenzo in October of 2008.

My Antonia (named after the Willa Cather read), is a continually-hopped imperial pilsner. This beer was brewed and distributed by Birra del Borgo. A small quantity was sent over to the United States.

In June of 2009, Leonardo came over to Delaware and brewed our Namaste beer with us at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub. What goes around, comes around.

And… for 2010, we plan to brew and package My Antonia for the U.S. market! The beer will be released in both April and November.”

Some of the spots where My Antonia has been on tap includes Redlight Redlight in Florida, Bar Great Harry in New York, and Bierkraft in NY.

And for those who don’t remember, Namaste was a beer brewed to benefit 3 Fonteinen after over 100,000 bottles of beer were destroyed.

Other than My Antonia, there are no changes to the schedule. Last year’s new brew, Sahtea is also coming back.

As for what’s new from DFH, Chicory Stout and Fort are the current seasonal beers available.
