(San Francisco, CA) – On Saturday night, marijuana lovers and supporters from all over will flock to San Francisco to celebrate and party at the Epic Daze festival. Rogue Ales is getting in on the action with its own special beer for the event.
This the first-ever time that the Cannabis Cup will be held on U.S. soil. It’s held in Amsterdam each year and is the largest annual marijuana event. Per Wikipedia, “The event allows judges from around the world to sample and vote for their favorite marijuana strains. These judges-at-large decide the Cannabis Cup (overall winner in the cannabis strain competition), best new product, best booth, best glass, best hash and best Nederhash. A team of VIP judges decide which seed company has grown the best marijuana. The High Times Cannabis Cup also includes live music, comedy and an expo for marijuana-related products from cannabis-oriented businesses.” My guess is that any judging will be behind closed doors for the U.S. version (if you know what I mean…).
Rogue Ales has stepped up and embraced the Cannabis Cup with a limited-edition beer appearing in 22 oz. bottles. Rogue Epic Daze will be available in some form at the event though the brewery has not confirmed whether it will be bottles or draft (or both) come Saturday night. Rogue is also hosting its own party the day before the fest:
“Rogue Ales Public House is San Francisco will be hosting a Epic Daze friends and family party on Friday June 18th. This will be a meet up for people from both the Cannabis Cup and the Epic Daze concert crew. We will also be having a special viewing of a documentary on medical marijuana, ‘How weed won the West.’ Rogue will be poured in the backstage area of the Epic Daze concert as well as the after party at venue.”
