Stone Brewing Update: 10.10.10, 2011 collaborator revealed and more

(Escondido, CA) – It is a big day out in Southern California.

* Today is the Stone 14th Anniversary Celebration, a huge party being held at California State University in San Marcos. Full details can be found here.

* Brewpublic got an interview with CEO, Greg Koch, during his recent visit to Portland, Oregon. Koch reveals that Stone 10.10.10 will be a Strong Belgian-style Golden Ale with Chamomile flowers and white wine grapes from Temecula. He doesn’t know exactly which grapes are going to be used as those will be determined at harvest though one will probably Muscat.

* Also revealed was that there is a likelihood that Dick Cantwell of Elysian Brewing will be one of the “collaborators” for a Stone beer this time next year. They could be doing something with pumpkin because of the season and because that is Elysian’s claim to fame.

* There isn’t much to report out in terms of Stone Europe updates. The brewery recently sent a team overseas to visit some locations. One is rumored to be the Highgate Brewery though Koch downplayed the rumors recently.. See all the recent news on the Highgate Brewery here.

* Finally, congrats to Jacob McKean and the rest of the Stone media team who helped push the brewery to 50,000 fans on Facebook this week. Only a handful of breweries have done that so far.
