(Papillion, NE) – Nebraska Barrel Aged Black Betty returns on Sunday.
Per the brewery’s Facebook page, “Many of you’ve been waiting for this day…and it’s nearly here! This Sunday ~ September 12th, we’ll be releasing our newest bottled batch of Stranahans Whiskey Barrel Aged Black Betty! At this time, this is our highest rated beer and is part of our Reserve Series.
At 5pm we will start selling these bottles as well as opening a few bottles of Black Betty to sample. These samples always go quickly so be sure to get there early!!! Ale Nation Members ~ don’t forget! ~ your membership entitles you to $5 off each bottle that they purchase during the release party!”
Label copy: “Black Betty is black as night and every bit Imperial. A rich, malty experience heightened through a 6 month barrel aging in fresh whiskey barrels. Meshing rich chocolate and coffee-like aromatics, the sweet whiskey nose plays with the drying character of the oak. Slightly behind on the palate are the hops – held in restraint by the wonderfully full character and broad flavors brought on by the perfect blend of so many malted barley varieties.” 9% ABV, 83 IBUs, available in 750ml.
No word on how far and wide this will be distributed if at all. Please see the update regarding distribution in the comments from Nebraska Brewing Co-Owner/Brewer, Paul Kavulak.
