The latest labels…

In October, a source tipped me off to the news that Magic Hat #9 will be packaged in cans this year. I’ve written a fair amount about the brewery since news broke of its sale back in August. Somehow, I don’t think I ever got that tip onto the blog…until now. The new label got approval this week. The beer remains one of the top sellers in what is considered the “craft” category. We’ve had enough of that discussion for this week so onto the next one…

Birra del Borgo got approval for My Antonia. The beer was initially a collaboration between the Italian brewery and Dogfish Head. DFH then released a solo bottled version in the states last year. In 2011, Birra del Borgo will import its own version of the hoppy Imperial Pilsner through B. United International.

Maine Beer Company has received great reviews for its first two releases, Zoe and Peeper Ale. The brewery plans to add a third beer to the mix in bottles, Mean Old Tom. Per the label, this 6.4% ABV Stout is named after a brewer’s uncle.

Finally, one of 2010′s couple hundred new breweries, Baying Hound Aleworks, just got approval for India Style Brown Ale. The Brown Ale/American IPA hybrid will be sold in 22 oz. bottles.

  1. Interested in trying the non-Dogfish My Antonia. IMO the Dogfish version is spectacular. Aging a 750 as we speak :)
