Big liquor stores prepare for move into Washington state
Following the passing of a bill that ended Washington state’s liquor monopoly…
"We have three leases moving along very quickly, two in Seattle and one in Spokane," said David Trone, president of Total Wine & More, a Maryland-based company with 78 big-box liquor stores in 11 states. The chain plans to open 10 shops in Washington eventually, including stores in Vancouver and Tacoma.
Liquor chains Beverages and More, known as BevMo, and Liquor Depot also might open in Washington, according to Andy Robinson, vice president at the commercial real-estate-services firm Kidder Mathews
