Westvleteren 12 shipment to U.S. part of plan to ship 70,000 boxes through Europe and North America

[Translated] From the end of this week, off go the boxes of Westvleteren 12 first to Switzerland, Ireland and France. In March, it then goes to Italy, Spain and the United States. Late April, it will be exported to the Netherlands, Canada and a second time to France.

The brewery produces 4,000 barrels of beer annually.

  1. Can’t fi8ngure this very special #craftbeer to ‘travel’ well, regardless of whether it ‘ages’ well, I ‘fear’ for supply change ‘abuse’: I’ll wait for a trip to the EU to have one…at the source.

  2. It seems to travel well packed in bubble wrap then in socks in my luggage, so i don’t see it having a problem traveling any worse. I am sure the monks will not want to ruin their legendary beer by shipping untravelable beer. In second thought, you are right it will get ruined, don’t buy it, I will just have to take any off your hands!!!
