Stone Brewing considering cans in the future

Stone Brewing Brewmaster, Mitch Steele, was on The Brewing Network last weekend (not so much to talk about Stone but because he happened to be around). Not an earth-shattering quote by any means but at one point Steele was asked about Stone and cans…

“We’re thinking about it. I don’t know if we will or not. Right now, we don’t have room. Once we can expand and get some more room, we might start thinking seriously about it.”

Attn: Minnesota readers, the featured guest for the program was Fitger’s Brewhouse in Duluth.

  1. Hey Stone- we like it! Craft beer canning is really sweeping the country right now.
I do wonder about Lagunitas’ recent statements about bauxite mining though.
As with many other facets of the craft beer world, I see Stone being an innovator with this issue. Perhaps Stone could help the canning industry by doing some environmental and socioeconomic research and ‘giving back’ to help mining communities and eco-impact?
    Cheers!

  2. Maybe Mitch meant they don’t have room on the back of the can for all that script???
