Homebrewers or terrorists? Three men arrested ahead of NATO Summit

Three activists who travelled to Chicago for a NATO summit were accused Saturday of manufacturing Molotov cocktails in a plot to attack President Barack Obama’s campaign headquarters, Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s home and other targets.

The attorney for the men say that they were just homebrewing. The photo atop the article sure looks like homebrewing equipment though the article indicates that some other ‘evidence’ may have been found.

  1. Just a couple of points… If they were traveling, why did they bring their fermenters? Why would you use roasted barley if you were just trying to make alcohol? Why worry about sanitation if you are not drinking it? The whole thing sounds fishy!

  2. I know this is a little late, but my understanding is the guy who’s apartment it was actually was a homebrewer. His guests (several random people from around the country) are the suspected molotov cocktail makers.
