(Raleigh, NC) – As someone who has been covering the beer beat for over four years now, this is the first. Breweries send press releases about new beers. Wholesalers send press releases about acquiring rights to distribute a brewery’s beers. While they have become savvy about email marketing and sites like Twitter and Facebook, wholesalers never send press releases about new beers through a PR company. We are truly in a new media age.
In any case, BRUX has landed in North Carolina’s Triangle.
Mims Distributing Company (http://www.mimsdist.com), a beer distributor that services a nine-county area in and around the Triangle, has announced that Mims now offers BRUX, a collaboration between the Sierra Nevada and Russian River brewing companies. Created at Sierra Nevada’s Chico, Calif., brewery, BRUX is an ale fermented with Belgian yeast and finished by a secondary bottle fermentation with the Brettanomyces bruxellensis yeast. This creates a dry and complex copper-colored beer with slightly tart notes of green grass, pear, spice and lemon.
“We have been looking forward to the release of BRUX since we first heard about the collaboration between these two great breweries,” said Chip Mims, CEO. “This is a great wild ale that is perfect for beer lovers looking to try something new this summer.”
