Bell’s Bourbon Barrel-aged Batch 9,000 Ale approved for 750ml bottles

Bell's Bourbon Barrel Batch 9000 Ale

(Kalamazoo, MI) – Bell’s Brewery has received label approval for Bourbon Barrel-aged Batch 9,000 Ale in 750ml bottles.

The brewery occasionally releases very limited beers in this format exclusively at its General Store.

Bell’s ended its annual-ish “Batch” series of beers in late 2010 with Batch 10,000 Ale.

Per Bell’s website, here is the description for the original Batch 9,000…

The latest in Bell’s series of milestone releases, Batch 9000 Ale offers up aromas ranging from the sweet caramel & molasses of dark rum to fruits such as raisins and plums. Brewed with the idea of pushing boundaries in mind, Batch 9000 Ale is a unique, one-time-only recipe. Well suited for vintage aging, this limited release will continue to develop in flavor & complexity over the years. Alcohol by Volume: 12.5%. Original Gravity: 1.116.

Note: while the vast majority of label approvals are for beers that do come to fruition, on rare occasion, they do not.

  1. If this has been aging since it’s original release, I bet it will be frickin’ awesome. Probably worth a pretty penny, too…
