(Marlborough, MA) – Recall the trademark dispute between Strange Brewing and Strange Brew Home Brew Shop that emerged earlier this month. There doesn’t appear to have been much in the way of legal developments as of Wednesday though a couple noteworthy items surfaced online.
Last week, the homebrew shop posted this on its Facebook page, :
I have great respect for the Colorado craft brewing community, and I admire and appreciate the efforts of brewers and home-brewers everywhere. While I stand by my statement that Colorado is one of the microbrew capitals of the country, New England is the epicenter of the Craft Beer Revolution.
Whatever your allegiance, the craft brewing movement is stronger than ever.
So let’s raise a pint to celebrate with our fellow brewers.
Support your local home-brew store. Support your local brewery. Long live craft brew!
Meanwhile, in Colorado, a movement is underway among local businesses to help Strange Brewing cover legal fees stemming from the dispute. Per Fermentedly Challenged:
Details are still in the works as of this posting, but Grimm Brothers Brewhouse of Loveland, CO will be partnering with the Rackhouse Pub in Denver, CO to hold a benefit beer event to help raise legal fees for Strange Brewing Company in their defense against a trademark name infringement case.
