Heavy Seas update: Siren Noire, Black Cannon, Powder Monkey, Gold Cutlass

Heavy Seas Siren Noire Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout

(Baltimore, MD) – The latest from Heavy Seas Beer’s Wednesday newsletter…

Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels, 9.5% ABV

The first release in our new Uncharted Waters series, this velvety smooth stout owes its full body to the additions of imported grains that add hints of mocha, fig, raisin, and roasted coffee. Belgian cacao nibs provide its decadent chocolate flavor. After fermentation, we aged the beer in freshly emptied bourbon barrels with Bourbon-Madagascar vanilla bean, creating an unparalleled flavor experience. Siren Noire is perfect for the winter, this brew pairs well with a warm blanket and a roaring fire!

Black Cannon Black IPA, 7.25% ABV

Black Cannon returns! Kicking off our 2013 seasonal offerings, this variation of Loose Cannon has a firm, malty character with roasted, coffee notes and an herbal hop aroma. Black Cannon pairs well with beef jerky, barbecued meats, and blackened salmon. Look for it from January through March.

Rebranding our current Clipper Fleet beers means some brand-new artwork that we’ve spent weeks perfecting! Here’s a first look at the brand new art work for Powder Monkey (formerly Heavy Seas Pale Ale), Gold, and Cutlass Amber (formerly Heavy Seas Marzen) before you see them in stores beginning in January 2013!

  1. Big surprise… Heavy Seas packages a bunch of the same stuff and “rebrands” it. I’d kill for a new session beer from them, but nope just the same old same old.
