(Houston, TX) – Received some news last week on a new series of beers from Saint Arnold Brewing Co.. More info below…
Saint Arnold has tentatively scheduled December 10th as the release date for its new line of rotating beers: Saint Arnold ICON. The beer is named for the icon of Saint Arnold of Metz that greets brewery visitors as they enter the building. It was painted in 2001 by the Rev. Andrey Davydov, a Russian Orthodox priest and icon painter from Pskov.
A new Saint Arnold ICON beer will be released quarterly — akin to a new series of seasonal offerings, but different. The styles won’t track the usual seasonal calendar and from one year to the next some styles may be replaced as the brewery continues to experiment.
Here are a few other factoids:
– ICON consists of four quarterly releases, scheduled in December, March, June and September.
– ICON Red is a Belgian-Style Pale Ale. ICON Blue will be a Cascadian Dark Ale.
– ICON has been in the works since 2006. The brewery’s increased capacity has made it possible to roll out an additional series of quarterly brews.
– ICON is not intended as a limited release. As is the case with Saint Arnold’s seasonal offerings, the brewery will continue producing ICON series beers and restocking shelves throughout the quarter.
Saint Arnold ICON also won’t interfere with the brewery’s current slate of seasonals, which collectively have long been the brewery’s top selling SKU.
