(Kalamazoo, MI) – On Thursday, CNNMoney reported a pretty big news item as part of a larger piece about craft beer growth. Buried within the article…
Based in Kalamazoo, Mich., Bells is now the seventh largest craft brewery in the United States, with 207 employees and two production facilities. Bells distributes in 18 states, plus Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. and soon plans to expand to New York State.
Yep, New York.
Bell’s Marketing Director, Laura Bell, told BeerPulse on Thursday, “We’ve decided that New York State will be our next territory expansion and we’ll roll out when we have enough beer to do so. No timeline as of now.”
Bell’s Founder, Larry Bell, re-iterated and added, “No set timetable- it will be our next state when we have enough beer to go around. Then, upstate first followed by the City.”
The article also mentions that Founders is planning to add “three states” this year. A request is out to Founders for more information.
