(Boulder, CO) – New Planet Beer offered up a bunch of news in Friday’s newsletter. More below…

2013 is shaping to up to be a great year on OUR PLANET, thanks in BIG part to you, our gluten-free beer community. New Planet Beer has expanded distribution to 44 states, and we are always working to get our beers to your local store. We have added some new beers to our family, and improved our packaging [...]

Please welcome 2 new family members onto our Planet. Weighing in at 12oz. each, and wrapped in brand new 4 packs, these babies will be very popular and will start showing up on your favorite retailers’ shelves in May.

Meet our NEW beers:

Amber Ale:
A truly drinkable ale with a balanced malt profile, lightly toasted caramel notes and subtle citrus hints on the finish. 5% abv. Year-Round Availability.

Belgian Ale:
An ale created with a distinctly Belgian character. Bright, crisp and refreshing with subtle spice and honey notes.
5% abv. Seasonal Availability: April – August.

We enlisted the help of a local, integrated design agency to create the new package design, while keeping in tune with the original messages that New Planet Beer stands for.

The new design is very distinct and offers retailers and consumers a brighter, more colorful package with simpler brand names. “Tread Lightly Ale” is now Blonde Ale. “Off Grid Pale Ale” is now Pale Ale and “3R Raspberry Ale” is called Raspberry Ale.

Pedro Gonzalez, owner and founder of New Planet Beer explained the switch in names, “We love the name Off Grid Pale Ale as much as we love Tread Lightly Ale and 3R Raspberry Ale. Unfortunately in many markets the unique names caused some confusion for customers and retailers. In order to help reduce confusion and unify the New Planet Beer brand, we chose to simplify our beer names. We are planning to release more styles in 2013 including an Amber, a Belgian, and a Brown Ale. For now, keep an eye out for the Pale Ale, Raspberry Ale & Blonde Ale.”
