Sang Noir 2012 will go on sale in bottles and on draft next Wednesday, Nov. 27th at 4:30pm PST. Bottles cost $25 with a 4 bottle max. Sang Noir WILL be available online; orders accepted as of 4:30pm next Wed, but won’t be filled until Tuesday, Dec. 3. Draft price is $7.5 a glass or $2.5 a taster. This NW style sour ale is a blend of red and double red beers that were aged in Bourbon and Pinot Noir barrels for 12 to 24 months, then blended with barrel aged Bing and sour pie cherries. Rich, dark cherries, dark fruit, Bourbon and hints of leather greet you in the nose. Tart dark cherries, dark caramels and hints of Port on the palate lead to a bright, tart, dark cherry finish with lingering hints of oak and Bourbon.
Cerise Nouveau, a NW style sour red ale, is the Beaujolais Nouveau of cherry beers. It’s a blend of red ales aged in oak barrels for up to eight months, then aged on fresh Bing cherries for an additional three months. Best consumed now through the holidays with friends. This will be sold on draft exclusively at the Barrel House beginning Wednesday at 3:01pm; draft will come to the Raccoon Lodge soon. 9% ABV, $7.5 glass, $2.5 taster. Bottles will go on sale once labels arrive in the near future.
