(Independence, OR) – In celebration of this year’s hop harvest, Rogue Ales is releasing Rogue Farms Wet Hop Ale, brewed with fresh-picked Freedom™ & Yaquina™ Hops grown on the Rogue Farm in Independence, Oregon.
Freedom™ and Yaquina™ are two of seven aroma hop varities that Rogue grows on 42-acres in Oregon’s lush Willamette Valley, along with pumpkins, jalapenos, rye, wheat, botanicals, hazelnuts and farmstead honeybees.
Within minutes of being trimmed from the trellises, Brewmaster John Maier and the Rogue brewers were on hand to strip the hop cones from their bines, stuff them into burlap sacks, immediately drive them 77 miles to the Rogue Brewery in Newport, Oregon and pitch them into the kettle to finish brewing WET HOP ALE.
From bine to brew, the elapsed time was just over 2 hours.
WET HOP ALE will be available on draft in limited quantities at all Rogue Ales Public Houses, as well as select bars and restaurants nationwide.
