(Pasadena, CA) – Artisan Ales announced last week that it is ceasing operations, effective this Friday, September 30th.
According to the company website, Artisan represents brands including but not limited to Noble Ale Works, Hair of the Dog Brewing, Logsdon Farmhouse Ales, Double Mountain Brewery, Craftsman Brewing Co., Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co. and Moonlight Meadery. At one point, the company also represented Alpine Beer Company prior to the brewery’s deal with Green Flash.
Statement below via the company’s Facebook page:
It is with humble honor (and a few tears) that Artisan Ales, Southern California’s boutique beer distributor, announces it will be closing after almost nine years. We are truly honored to have worked with some of the most pioneering microbrewery legends and wish nothing but the best to them and their staffs. None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of Artisan Ales employees past and present, to whom I will always be grateful and will sorely miss. And to our faithful customers — thank you for supporting small businesses – both ours and the amazing breweries we represented. By doing so you support the inspiration that motivates all of of us in the craft beer industry to follow our dreams and take a chance. I took that chance in October 2007 and am forever thankful to all who have supported Artisan Ales along the way.
Yours in beer,
President and Executive Glass Washer of Artisan Ales
