Angel City Citrus Wheat Ale 6-pack

[Press Release:]

(Los Angeles, CA) – Whether you’re a guest, a native or a transplant, Los Angeles welcomes all with warm sunshine, clear skies, and a bustling art scene. Art of all types is celebrated, from graffiti to murals to open air studios, and LA is bustling with creatives living everywhere from Venice to the East Side. Inspired by these great artists and their neighbors within the Arts District, Angel City Brewery is excited to release new packaging featuring LA murals from artists they love. And with that, Angel City is also launching Citrus Wheat Ale, a new year-round beer offering that will be available statewide starting February 2017.

Citrus Wheat Ale is a golden, hazy colored wheat ale made from mandarin, tangerine, and lime for a sweet, tart tang highlighted by the bright aroma of lime zest and tropical fruit. It’s an easy sipping beer with an ABV of 5.0% and a low IBU of 22. Originally brewed as a Public House-only beer, it will join the brewery’s lineup of flagship offerings and will be available throughout California on draught and in bottles.

“Angel City Brewery is all about good beer, great times, and gorgeous art,” said Melissa Corbin, events manager for Angel City Brewery. “With so much ever-evolving art throughout our neighborhood, we wanted our packaging to reflect our surroundings and what inspires us, whether fans are drinking our beer in Santa Monica, San Francisco or somewhere in-between.”

The Citrus Wheat packaging showcases a mural by Fluke, Vyal Reyes, and Zek, which paid homage to the glamorous side of LA living. The unique portrait style and hand positions were inspired by classic fashion shoot poses. This iconic mural was painted and designed as an ode to LA before the artists returned home to Canada, and was located in Downtown LA’s The Container Yard in late 2015.

Also getting an upgrade is Angel City Pilsner, which features a mural by Christina Angelina and Fanakapan, photographed by Jay Kantor. Angelina and Fanakapan crafted this art piece to instill a feeling of momentary, wholehearted, unconditional connection, like the one portrayed between the two beings in the mural. The piece, located downtown on 4th Street, was executed on a corrugated metal surface that the artists then sanded and scraped into. The result is a luminous living piece that reflects light in different ways. Fanakapan is based in London, while Angelina calls Venice home.

These two new labels join Angel City’s IPA, which currently features JR’s The Wrinkles of The City mural, the centerpiece of the brewery’s building. All three beers are available across California in 6-packs and on draught.

Angel City Brewery brews for the greater LA area and beyond at their Downtown based brewery in the heart of the Arts District. The brewery’s Public House features a 19-tap bar that serves an ever-changing roster of classic and newly inspired beer, and is open seven days a week with a full calendar of events ranging from trivia nights to art shows, live music and festivals. The Public House is open Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm – 12:00am, Friday 4:00pm – 2:00am, Saturday 12:00pm – 2:00am, and Sunday 12:00pm – 12:00am.
