(Omaha, NE) – String up those pretzel necklaces, the craft beer event of the summer is less than three weeks away! Omaha Beer Fest returns for its seventh year on Friday, June 9th and Saturday, June 10th at its new location, on the infield TURF at Horsemen’s Park.

Hundreds of unique craft beers, ciders and meads will be available for tasting from American craft breweries, including debuts from Defiance, First Street, and Saugatuck with the return of some of your favorites like Oskar Blues, Infusion, and Backswing. Fourteen Nebraska breweries are included in this year’s festivities, including Kinkaider Brewing (Broken Bow), Ploughshare Brewing (Lincoln), Thunderhead Brewing (Kearney), Nebraska Brewing and Upstream Brewing (Omaha).

Have you had the chance to experience a Silent Disco Party yet? Friday night, patrons can dance and enjoy their favorite music genre from wireless headsets in the Silent Disco Party Tent! Fans can experience various channels of music as a group at the same time, despite the fact that onlookers can’t hear what they are dancing to…which is half the fun!

On Saturday at 4:00 pm, the highly anticipated BATTLE OF THE BEARDS CONTEST returns, sponsored by Bearded Builders and Horsemen’s Park, where dozens of hairy contestants will show off their manlihood for cash and other great prizes. Make sure to sign up when you get to the festival!

A limited number of tickets are available to Saturday’s VIP Lounge which features a specialty craft beer tasting from Tallgrass Brewing Company and a buffet of delicious summer foods provided by Ralston Arena Catering. Also on Saturday, hourly Beer Academy sessions are free with admission, and include beer and food pairings as well as special tastings from today’s trending craft beers.

Major sponsors include Unico/Nationwide, Renewal by Anderson, DRAFT Magazine, Bearded Builders, NRG Radio (1290 KOIL, Q98.5, 101.9 THE KEG, 1620 THE ZONE), Five Points Bank, Chris Jerram Law, Omaha Happy Hours, Hauptman, O’Brien, Wolf & Lathrop, Holiday Inn Express, and Comfort Inn. Attendance supports Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.
