  1. Their Irish Stout is actually a lager (It says both stout and lager on the label)? Before I looked too closely, I was excited about the prospect of a widely available national brand making a (hopefully) lower-cost alternative to Guinness. I rarely drink Guiness because I don’t like paying their overinflated asking price, so a cheaper alternative would be right up my alley (I like the Saranac Irish Stout, which fits the bill, but it’s only out in the spring). Calling an irish stout a lager right on their label doesn’t leave me brimming with confidence that this will be any good, though. ;)

  2. heh, looks like a mistake by someone at the company but I trust this is actually a stout and not some kind of otherwordly stout lager hybrid beer

  3. I’ve had it and it is very good. It is dark and doesn’t have that thick taste like Guiness. Definitely can tell the difference between this and a lager. It’s no lager.

  4. I’m a porter, stout, barley-wine kinda guy. Stout or lager, I don’t care. Its a damn good beer. Hope it stays around, so when I can only make to the grocery store. This is going to be the one.
