De Struise Brouwers auctions off 9-liter beers for charity

————————————————————————

de-struise-brouwers.jpg(Waregem, Belgium) – In a move that more craft brewers should take up, Struise is auctioning off nine-liter bottles of beer to the highest bidders for charity, according to the brewery’s blog. No Black Albert but some of the beers are brewed by Struise and some are from other breweries. The beers in question are already up for bid on eBay, the links for which can be accessed directly through the Struise blog; they will be awarded to the high bidders on March 23. The charity is called Somival (I couldn’t get the site to work). The lineup:

  • Struise Pannepot Reserva Oak Aged – 4.26 RB (the best of the batch)
  • Struise Pannepeut (new version) – 3.92
  • Alvinne Podge Imperial Stout Blended & Oak Aged – 4.25 avg. on Ratebeer, only 4 reviews
  • Arabier
  • Piraat 10.5
  • Malheur 10
  • Quintine Blonde
  • Oud Beersel Oude Lambik
  • De Hofnar
  • HIK Bruin

There will also be a second event from what I can tell right in Belgium with live bidding. And at some point, Black Albert will be available but probably only for the auction. If someone can translate, send me a note: “Black Albert zal beschikbaar zijn vanaf 30/04/08.”
