Beer notes: New beer releases (Flossmoor Station, Baron Brewing)

A number of breweries have got new beers or bottlings coming but there isn’t always enough to merit a whole post to each one (or I just don’t have the time).

  • Haandbryggeriet, a Norwegian brewery who earned some fanfare with Dark Force- its wheat-heavy take on a Russian Imperial Stout, will enter the Double IPA category for the first time with “Dobbel Dram.” The beer will be arriving to the states in the coming weeks.
  • Flossmoor Station won’t stop bottle production with only three of its styles. The brewery will also re-image its previously bottled Panama Limited Red Ale and release Gandy Dancer Honey Ale in bottles. The brewery is believed to be in label approval stage as we speak.
  • Baron Brewing, a Seattle-based brewery known for its German specialties, will release a new beer, King Porter, in bottles. All of Baron’s beers have scored in the A/B range on Beer Advocate so far. Speaking of the devil, a click to the website might show what BA.com could have looked like back in 1997.
  • Straight from New England Brewing’s newsletter: The Scotch ale is now in the label-approval stage so it should be released in the next few weeks. (This is probably referring to the new Wet Willy Scotch Ale, 10% ABV, available on tap at the brewery).
