Rogue to honor Malheur National Wildlife Refuge

————————————————————————————————- Courtesy of Rogue Ales - Great Egret Pale Ale(Newport, OR) – Rogue will pay tribute to the park and the work it has done leading up to its 100th anniversary this year. The brewery will release Great Egret Pale Ale to mark the event. It was the near extinction of the Great Egret that led to President Roosevelt’s eventual recognition of the park as a national refuge in 1908. The Great Egret at Wikipedia. Malheur also has an official site; it is part of a 1.7 million acre national park in eastern Oregon.

For homebrew buffs, the ingredient details can be found right on the label:

  • Malts – Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich, & Carastan
  • Hops – Perle (Germany) & Saaz (Czech Republic)

Rogue will also have a new beer, “Eugene Anniversary Ale,” on tap at some point for those in the area.
