Struise Black Albert is due to ship over in mid-August according to the schedule noted on Struise’ official website. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the beers will be available on shelves in August. What we do have now is the first confirmation from a retailer that will be getting it. Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville, North Carolina will be getting 10 cases according to the latest blog post. We don’t know whether they will be shipping that beer when it arrives. It leaves approximately 590 cases leftover for the rest of the U.S. Should be interesting to see where these go. Looks like Canada got a shipment already through Horizon Wines, Inc. (unconfirmed, no web site either). It also looks like Roland and Russell, a distributor in Burlington, Ontario, is now offering Struise Pannepot Grand Reserva through consignment.
Rumors are floating that Saint Arnold Brewing will release another version of its Divine Reserve Series this coming September. Seems quite soon after the release of “DR6” but speculation is that they want it to be ready for GABF. [ed: When are the deadlines for that?] What is official is that it will be a weizenbock based on Austin Zealots’ Kerry Martin’s winning homebrew recipe from the 13th Annual Big Batch Brew Bash. Here is the Divine Reserve 7 official press release from back in May.
Finally, Brewdog will be coming out with two more new beers soon. They put out so many that we can hardly keep track. Paradox Isle of Arran is the newest in the brewery’s line of aged imperial stouts. “We currently have 20 Isle of Arran whisky casks sitting maturing our Imperial Stout. The first batch is due to be bottled in about 3 weeks time […]” Speedball Class A Strong Ale is the other new offering. The ingredients are outlined in full in the Brewdog blog post. It can be purchased at the brewery website either by case or as part of the new mixed cases now on sold on the site.

Not just rumors on the Saint Arnold DR 7. It was brewed last week and will be released in time for entry in the Great American Beer Festival’s pro-am category. The recipe is based on an Austin resident’s winning recipe from the Big Batch Brew Bash homebrew competition at which the best Weizenbock was selected. He was at the brewery to assist with brewing the DR7 batch.
