(Pittsburgh, PA) – Pennsylvania-based East End Brewing will release its top-rated beer, East End Gratitude, again on Saturday, August 9, at 12pm at the brewery. East End Gratitude 2007 is the latest rendition in a series of annual Barleywine releases. 1500 bottles have been produced and individually numbered. The brewery will also be releasing a vertical package which includes the previous 05 and 06 releases.
The beers, which have previously earned A- or better at Beer Advocate, have flown under the radar since the series’ inception. Gratitude has been hopped with Chinook, Cascade, and Centennial in the past and held an ABV level of 11.5%. The 1500 bottles being released this year are more than in previous years, 2007 (1300) and 2006 (600). And the vertical package we mentioned? It will carry three 2007’s, two 2006’s, and one rare 2005 bottle. [ed: because the bottles are aged at the brewery, 2005 came out in 2006 and so forth]
East End Snow Melt Winter Ale will also be on sale that day.
The bottle labels are designed by Mary Tremonte.
Here is a news video that was aired early last year featuring Scott Smith and East End Brewing.
Hands down the best US style barleywine made. Full stop. If anyone EBays any please share the profits with Scott as he deserves it for sure.
Cheers!
