[Late Addition: Where the Wild Beers Are: an event taking place at Stub & Herb’s in Minneapolis this Sunday featuring Jolly Pumpkin, Cantillon, Fantome, and more. Looks like registration is still open!]

I don’t cover events a lot here but there’s an awful lot happening over the next month or so that is worthy of posting. Here goes…

Hopcat Beer Advocate Meetup – There is a huge Beer Advocate event at the new HopCat in-house brewery in Grand Rapids, MI this Wednesday night.

Stone 12th Anniversary Party – On Saturday, Stone Brewing celebrates its 12th anniversary. There are apparently a few tickets left according to the website. The 30+ brewery list and tickets can be found online.

Russian River Beer Dinner @ Falling Rock – The Falling Rock Tap House in Denver is hosting Russian River Brewing Co-Owner Natalie Cilurzo for a beer dinner to tip off the availability of Russian River beers in Colorado for the first time. Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig will be among those on tap.

Ebenezer’s Belgian Beer Fest – The biggest craft beer fest in Maine, Owner, Chris Lively, is pulling out the stops again in bringing over RateBeer’s #1 brewers in the world, De Struise Brouwers for a whole week from August 23-31. What happened last time? One of the best beers in the world, Struise Black Albert, was brewed. There may even be bottles of it at the fest this year. The best night will probably be Chris’ birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 26 with the massive beer dinner on Thursday a close second.

1st Annual Surlyfest – Surly Brewing is hosting an event at its brewery in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota on September 6 for the first time. It will celebrate the first SurlyFest tapping of the season. Tickets are on sale now.

Great Lakes Brew Fest – As if Great Taste of the Midwest weren’t enough, this is another Wisconsin fest, this time taking place in Racine, on September 13.

2nd Annual Steel City Big Pour – Two three-hour sessions with beer, art, and music in Pittsburgh on September 13.

Beer Advocate’s Belgian Beer Fest – Weekend of Sept. 26. Need I say more?

Autumn Brew Fest – The biggest beer event in Minnesota every year takes place in Minneapolis on September 27. A great way to round out the summer (moving into fall here, too). Tickets go on sale August 15.
