Flossmoor Station Collaborative Evil release – Happens tomorrow (details at the blog), Beer Advocate discussion here
Some random tidbits from the email/web:
From email correspondence with Nick Castiglione of Liquor Max, it looks the old adage still rings true: “Never trust a rep.” Some of the initial info that came through about Great Divide Whiskey-Aged Yeti and Old Ruffian was incorrect or not up to date. It now looks like the original quantity of around 1,000 bottles (2000 total) may actually be less than half of that (only two barrels with a lot lost to the Angel’s Share- damn those greedy angels!). There is a possibility that the release will be delayed until around GABF. Nick will likely get some limited allotment but with all of the beer people in town at that time, he does not yet know if he will put any online yet.
From this morning’s Russian River Brewing blog post: “Rumor has it we might bottle something special from barrels next week. My source is unreliable at best… 😉 It won’t be available in our online gift shop so please visit our website to find one of our retail partners near you!”
From Will’s Cambridge Brewing event plug in the BA forums, it appears as though Ron Jeffries has had an experiment going. I assume it won’t be bottled but that would be a nice surprise: “Jolly Pumpkin, Lansing, MI – barrel fermented sour pumpkin ale – Ron’s first time ever making a pumpkin beer!”
Lastly, Thickerfreakness from BA astutely put two and two together for me…or maybe it is a coincidence. One of the beers at this weekend’s Belgian Beer festival is Lost Abbey Saints Devotion ’08. The release of an unknown beer is scheduled for Patron Saints next month (not sure if the timing is still for October). Saints Devotion, Devotion Ale spiked w/ Brett; 7.0%, could be that beer.
Watch for weekend updates, too.
