Mikkeller Not Just Another Wit, Santa’s Little Helper 2008, From To are U.S.-bound

Mikkeller Not Just Another Wit

(Copenhagen, Denmark) – Mikkeller is shipping out more beer to the states this week. The 2008 rendition of Santa’s Little Helper will arrive soon along with two new beers: Not Just Another Wit and From To. Some may recognize the latter beer as being similar in name to last year’s ‘To From.’ The 2007 version was along the lines of a porter whereas this year’s version appears to be more like a winter warmer. The witbier will be an imperial version, among the highest ABV beers in the style, one that it appears Mikkeller has not touched before. It also comes with an interesting mix of hops in Goldings, Saaz, Amarillo, and Cascade. All three should be available shortly after arriving to the states.

According to Mikkel, there will be news coming later in the year with respect to three more beers. There are plans to brew up a new batch of Mikkeller Simcoe IPA, currently the #6 IPA in the world at RateBeer. It’s Alright! is another Belgian Wild Ale like It’s Alive!, which the brewery released earlier this year. Lastly, another special version of Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch is in the works using “Vietnamese ‘shit’ coffee.”

Shit coffee “chon, or weasel-shit coffee. With chon, coffee beans are fed to weasels, later collected from their excrement, presumably cleaned, and then roasted.” – Vietnamese Travelogue

I believe Alesmith’s “The Shit” version of Speedway Stout may have used the same kind of coffee but I can’t confirm [ed: work has blocked access to RateBeer because of the hacking/harmful alert 🙁 ]
