Smoke from the Oak – Bourbon barrel, batch #2

As I am sure you know by now we like to do things a little different when it comes to some of our beers, and this one is no different. Aged in freshly emptied Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels for a full 12 months, this beer has picked up some acidity and sourness from the wood giving it similar character to the SFTO – wine barrel, but none of the funky aromas associated with the Brettanomyces used in the wine barrel version. The bourbon character comes through in the nose, but is very faint in the flavor.
Brewmaster/Owner, Scott Vaccaro, also predicts that NorEaster Batch #3 will be available the weekend of December 12th.
