[Update: Coming Nov. 1st]
(Ponderay, ID) – A Google search for ‘Laughing Dog‘ brings up some unusual image results, and in the end, an eventual visit to Laughing Dog’s website failed to lend any information on this beer. The Idaho brewery’s new imperial stout even has an unlisted ABV as of right now.
Interestingly though, The Dogfather was actually a real spoof of the classic featuring dogs acting as the Italian Mafia. There are some other Dogfather covers out there. Here are a couple: http://www.alexusjones.com/muppets-the-dogfather-5000735.jpg, http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/301/dogfatherbr7.gif. There are also several businesses named “The Dogfather.” [ed: Hopefully Laughing Dog won’t run into any legal troubles! I’m sure they’ll be fine.]
In other news, another imperial stout got label approval this week. Mad Brewer, the house label for The Brew Keeper, a multi-faceted brewpub/co-op based in Cleveland, will add Black Storm Imperial Stout to the mix later this year. The beer has an ABV of 11.5%.
