Owner/Head Brewer, Bob Sylvester, left a note on the Beer Advocate boards today that more people will have access to the Saint Somewhere Brewing lineup thanks to a new venture:
Saint Somewhere Brewing Company of Tarpon Springs FL, has partnered with Shelton Brothers to distribute nationally. Saint Somewhere is a small batch brewer of traditionally made Belgian style ales. We use strictly Belgian malt and whole leaf hops. All ales are bottle conditioned and never filtered. We produce our own dark candi sugar, which, along with our house yeast, provides an uncompromising level of complexity.
Our current line-up is…
Saison Athene– A spiced saison with chamomile, rosemary and black pepper.
Lectio Divina– A Belgian inspired amber. This beer gets it’s color from the candi sugar, as it is made without dark or crystal malts.
Coming soon…Pays du Soliel– Amber ale with Palmetto berries and hibiscus.
All our ales receive a dose of Brettanomysis, at bottling, that will develop with age. 750ml corked and caged.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this old news? I think this was posted on their MySpace page months ago. The Saint Somewhere brews have been listed on the Shelton Brothers website for a while now, and it’s been distributed as far west as Oregon (Liquid Solutions, BottleTrek) via Shelton (I assume). Sorry, I’m not trying to call you out or say your info is bad or anything, but I think this is sort of a re-hashing of something that most interested parties were already aware of.
Hmm, MA just got it and PAys Du Soleil only has a few reviews. So some of this may be old if you already have access but for those of us that don’t, I think it’s relevant. I only visited their myspace for the first time today.
The reviews for Pays du Soleil to this point were from a very small first batch shared by the brewer with a few individuals in the Tampa area. It has never been commercially available. Per an e-mail from Bob that I got yesterday, the Pays du Soleil will be ready for commercial release at the end of November.
Pays du Soleil is not available in MA or even the Tampa area, If I am not mistaken, it was a very small batch brewed one time and not really distributed.
This post if very relevant, old news or not. More people need to try St. Somewhere’s beer. Truly gems.
