(Placentia, CA) – A couple quick notes from The Bruery…
Anyone who read the recent LA Times article on SoCal breweries may have caught a small reference to a “Flemish Red” from The Bruery. It just so happens that Patrick Rue, founder/brewer of The Bruery, had just mentioned on The Brewing Network that he has a Flemish Red that will come out in a couple years. There are two batches resting right now, and the next will involve the work of a mead maker, incorporating honey and sour cherries. Brewer, Tyler King’s recipe that he made as a homebrewer will be used as the base.
Rue also announced that he will be moving into Oregon very soon (possibly as early as this month) after signing a distribution agreement and will soon be found in BevMo locations across California. There are also stirrings on Beer Advocate that the beer could be made available in Boston at some point. Tastings in the area are supposed to happen “soon” according to one poster.
[ed: For those that homebrew, Patrick gave out the recipe for The Bruery Trade Winds Tripel and was also pretty forthcoming with Autumn Maple.]
