(Easton, PA) – More from Weyerbacher Brewing in a busy 24-hour span full of craft beer news. The next take in the Brewers Select Series, Weyerbacher Delta, will be released in less than two weeks. Looks like the brewery is following up its smoked ale, Charlie, (which will become a seasonal called Fireside Ale in case you missed it earlier), with a beer that seems fit for the holidays.
From Chris Wilson, Weyerbacher Head Brewer, Delta is “a pitch black stout made with ginger, cinnamon and a touch of molasses. This medium–bodied ale has flavors of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and ginger snap cookies.”
The 7.3% ginger snap stout will be packaged next week. Most will be on draft in Philly, Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The rest, approximately 100 cases, will go on sale right at the brewery on Saturday, December 6 (and on draft soon thereafter).
I presume Weyerbacher Echo is next in keeping with the phonetic alphabet theme. It will be interesting to see what happens if the program reaches as far as “Weyerbacher Golf.”
