(Philadelphia, PA) – Yards Brewing appears to be bringing back two beers from its “Ales of the Revolution Series.” George Washington’s Tavern Porter and Thomas Jefferson’s Tavern Ale got label approval recently. Only a couple reviews have been made for these beers so it looks like they have been off of shelves for a while now (correct me, please).
The brewery also opened up a new facility while still operating in the old one. Lew Bryson wrote an informative piece on the transition: “Basics: Year-rounds will be ESA, Philly Pale, IPA, and Brawler. Remember Brawler, the “pugilist-style ale”? It’s a 4.0% malt-forward session beer, “A ruby mild, really,” Tom said. […] Seasonals, for now, are Love Stout in the fall and winter, Saison in the spring and summer. […] There will also be some one-offs coming from the old original Yards brewing system, the little three-barrel baby from the old brewery up on the hill in Manayunk.”
Oddly, there is no mention of the Revolutionary Ales there but good stuff happening with the brewery nonetheless.
Ah, that would be my bad. Tom did actually say that the Revolutionary Ales would be back, and I neglected to put that in the post.
Nice. Quick to the draw, Lew.
