(Pleasantville, NY) – Captain Lawrence Brewing notified newsletter subscribers tonight that Noreaster will be available at the brewery on Saturday.
According to the newsletter, “This year’s version was aged in freshly emptied Heaven Hill bourbon barrels and has picked up a delicate coconut flavor and aroma which intertwines with the flavors of the roasted malts and elderberries […]”
This will be the third edition of the winter warmer/strong ale. Past editions have scored well enough to make it the most highly-rated Captain Lawrence offering on Beer Advocate. And with only Cuvee de Castleton in its way as # CLB beer, it also ranks well at RateBeer.

Ha. I was just noting that beer in a blog post. Amazing beer. I found a shop online last year that I bought it from. Let us know if you track down online sales.
Yeah I got the first year release sitting and aging. I didn’t get last year and I am hoping I can score this year. However, I won’t be in that area until next month. So I’ll have to look around online to see if it will be available.
It should last on the brewery shelves for at least a couple of weeks. Especially since it’s a 6 bottle limit this time. Also, local stores near the brewery will have it as well. Maybe even longer than it’ll be available at the brewery. FYI and all…for those looking to “score”.
Scott’s also releasing a draft only Espresso Stout for those eager to double up on their notebook scorepads.
Enjoy!
Thanks for the Espresso Stout tip! People can still get Captain Lawrence Smoke from the Oak Bourbon Barrel starting tomorrow morning as well.
