[Update from Patrick on BA: Partridge in a Pear Tree will start getting out there next week in Southern CA. It’ll be in San Francisco and Oregon (mostly Portland) area shortly thereafter.]
(Placentia, CA) – Note that these do not include the Flemish Red that I mentioned a few weeks ago! The Bruery recently announced on its newly-minted website that two new seasonals, one to come this winter and one to come next spring. The first, which some have already read about, is called Partridge in a Pear Tree.
Website description: “Our holiday beer is a Belgian-style Dark Strong Ale, brewed with our brewery-made dark candi sugar, Munich and Vienna malts. Dark brown in color, fruity and complex with a rich malt backbone. This is a simple yet immensely complex beer meant to be savored and shared with friends and family.
ABV: 12%, IBU: 20, SRM: 20, Release: Winter”
The black label mentions that this could age for a dozen years and quips that this could be made into a series (but I just can’t picture ‘The Bruery Geese a Laying,’ can you?).
The other new brew will be called Saison De Lente (Saison of spring). Website description:
“Our Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than our Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. Perfect for warmer weather and Spring celebrations.
ABV: 6.5%, IBU: 35, SRM: 4, Release: Spring”
And in case you missed their blog post on Monday: “Our beers are now distributed in Oregon, and are making their way around Portland as we speak. In a few weeks, our beers will also be available in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa and Solano Counties.”
Patrick said that the Flemish red is still brewing. BTW is the picture above the label that got rejected, or the one that passed?
Oh I expect that Flemish Red to brew for quite a while longer. Must be cool to visit the brewery and taste some of their limited stuff.
I had no idea that one passed and one failed.
