What Did You Drink Tonight? (or last night?)

Google Friend Connect

I put up a new ‘Google Friend Connect’ feature on the right side of the page tonight that I know you guys will enjoy. I already love it. It puts a face to a name, you can edit your own profile page w/ your blog and other links, add friends, and rate beers! If you are a member of Google, Yahoo, AOL, or OpenID, you already have a login, you just need to “JOIN THIS SITE”.

Ever had a glass of beer in your hand while you were coming to this site? Now you can write a review and it will appear on the front page of Beernews.org. OK, well, a snippet will appear briefly with your picture depending on how frequently members post reviews (thus knocking yours off the front page). Though you can click the little ‘next’ button below the reviews to see more of them.

And you may write as little or as much as you would like! No pressure to adhere to Taste, Mouthfeel, Drinkability, etc. though you are more than welcome to do so.

To view a member’s profile, just click on the person’s picture, and their favorite links (blog links ARE allowed and ENCOURAGED!) will appear. And there is a big ‘Add as a friend’ button there, too.

Note that even if you are already set up to make comments here, you would still need to sign up for the board separately, and join this new feature separately. I am not savvy enough to make it just one login for everything!

  1. New England Sea Hag IPA, a great fresh local with a nice unique tea like aroma and a nice cascade character but balance taste.

  2. Before anyone else comments, hit the big ass JOIN THIS SITE button to the right! And then once you have joined, you can write about what you’re drinking or drank recently…or anything else about beer and people will see it on the front page!

  3. Last night I enjoyed a Schlafly Reserved Oak aged Barleywine style ale. Delicious…it tasted to me like someone poured some Jack Daniels into my beer…the oak aging really gave it a nice kick. I can’t wait to try the bourbon-barrel aged Imperial stout.

  4. I’m drinking my annual Holiday ale. Turned out good this year. Too much clove at first but that’s mellowed and the cinnamon is coming out now. Apart from that, I had a Kona Brewing Co. Longboard Lager last night – my wife’s favorite beer (well, at the moment).

  5. Thanks for the comments guys. Because of work coming in three diff. places for me right now, I plan on taking the month off from drinking at all.

    WHOA, right?

Yeah, I gotta be up in 4 hours for an inventory, too. Ugh.
