Otter Creek partners with Bolton Valley, Bromley, Jay Peak and Mad River Glen for “Ski Midweek Free” deal

Otter Creek Brewing has partnered with Bolton Valley, Bromley, Jay Peak and Mad River Glen ski areas to offer consumers the chance to ski midweek for free (when your buddy pays, that is). The promotion is valid January 1 through March 31, Monday through Friday, with the exception of President’s Week and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. To take advantage of this “buy one, get one free” deal on lift tickets, look for Otter Creek “Ski for Free” coupons in a store near you. Must be 21 or older. Visit ottercreekbrewing.com for more information.

Wolaver’s Pat Leavy’s All-American

Wolaver’s Organic Ales started shipping their newest special release. “Pat Leavy’s All-American,” brewed with Oregon-grown organic hops and American organic malts, is named in honor of hop grower Pat Leavy. Frustrated that organic hops had to be shipped in from overseas, Wolaver’s set out to find a more local source. Pat Leavy agreed to grow organic hops for the brewery and this All American ale is brewed with his organic Fuggles, Goldings, and Magnum hops. The beer is an amber colored highly drinkable ale with delicious hop flavors and aromas, available in 6 pks and on draft. More and more organic ales are becoming available but it is a rare feat to brew an all-organic all-American ale. This is the second beer from Wolaver’s to be named in honor of an organic farmer. The first, Will Stevens’ pumpkin ale, was a big hit among organic consumers and pumpkin beer lovers alike.

Otter Creek Russian Imperial Stout

Otter Creek Brewing is rolling out a new Imperial series with the first beer releasing January ’09. These larger-than-life beers will be sold in 22 oz bottles and on draft. Brewed with more malts and more hops, these big beers are high-end and high-octane.
The first in the series, a Russian Imperial Stout, will not disappoint. The style was first brewed in England for the Russian Czar and it is the king of stouts. Plenty of big malt flavors- chocolate and roasted- and high alcohol with lower carbonation and mild hops. The Otter Creek Russian Imperial Stout clocks in around 10% ABV- a beer to be savored responsibly. True to style, this beer will last for years so you may want to stock up on a few bottles for your cellar while it’s available.

Otter Creek Mud Bock

Otter Creek’s popular World Tour series will take a new direction for ’09. The jet-setting otter will stick to American soil for the year, revisiting his roots- and brewing up some of Otter Creek’s old favorites. The first new offering for the year, released in January, is Mud Bock.
“We have had people contacting us for many years, asking when we will brew Mud Bock again,” says Sales Manager Max Oswald. “It is almost like a cult following- people just did not forget about this beer. We decided the Otter should take a break from his world travels and focus on some styles closer to home.”
The Mud Bock, for those who don’t remember Otter Creek’s spring seasonal offering from years back, is a hearty amber beer, with a perfect balance of malts and hops and herbal and floral notes. Available for a limited time only, in 22 oz bottles and on draft, Max advises all die-hard Mud Bock fans to “stock up while you can.”

Otter Creek Spring Ale Kölsch

Otter Creek has started shipping their Spring Ale Special Release- a German-style Kölsch- bright golden ale originating in Cologne, Germany. Craft brewed with 2-row malt and malted wheat, and hopped with Tettnang and Liberty hops, this beer is crisp and refreshing with a dry finish. Available mid January through April, in 6 pks, 12 pks, and on draft.

  1. WOW! The Russian Imperial Stout is perhaps the best RIS on the market today. I had a taste of it in Brooklyn at Mugs Ale House last month. I found it on sale at Oliver’s Beverage Store in Albany NY. I picked up 2 bottles and had one of them last night. It is just soooooo good! Smooth, creamy, chocolatey. If the 2nd bottle was cold, I probably would have drank it as well. Nice job on this exceptional offering! I just want to know where you hid the alcohol. I pray I can buy it here in Brooklyn.

  2. I’ve seen it in stores but am being extra cautious with my wallet…at least until I am told how many thousands I owe in taxes..
