Ballast Point Brewing recently re-released Dorado Double IPA for the first time in over a year. The beer has already come and gone in some locations but its reach extends to states far from the small California brewery like Illinois and North Carolina. It is worth calling around to your local stores if Ballast Point beers are carried in your state.
From Avery Brewing’s latest newsletter, it was revealed that this year’s Anniversary Ale is inspired by the Saison style: “A ‘saison-esque’ brew with peaches, honey and jasmine, combining intense flavors with summertime quaffability.” Avery Sixteen will be released on May 1st while Karma Ale and Samael’s Oak-Aged Ale come out on April 1st.
New Holland Golden Cap Saison Ale returned to Michigan this week after its debut in the High Gravity Series last summer. The beer is now in six-packs instead of bombers and the ABV changed from 7% to 6.25%. Also new for the brewery is Brother Jacob’s Belgian Dubbel. A release party was held earlier this evening.
Speaking of Michigan, this news comes off of Dark Horse Brewing‘s website: “It saddens me to say that unfortuanatly we will not be releasing the 3 Guy Off the Scale Barley Wine to our distributors in 2009. However, for you diehards…we have 60 cases of 3 Guy that we made 8 months ago with anticipation of brewing more. We just didn’t have the time or the space this year. We are sorry to do this to you but it is what it is… The 60 cases will go on sale at the Dark Horse tap room at 11am Wednesday April 1st on a first come first serve basis. $15 a four pack or $85 a case. So stop in for lunch, some pints, and some very limited 3 Guy.
Double Crooked Tree IPA, Plead the 5th Imperial Stout, and Fore Smoked Stout [were] all being packaged [last] week so look for it in your area soon. Also, Sapient Trip Ale and our favorite spring fever beer ROD will be out in mid to late April. The ROD will come out draft only but we hope to have it in a 4 pack and on the shelfs by summer.”
