Nogne O is sending two more beers to the U.S. for release this coming April. According to Nogne O’s website, the collaborative Dugges-Nogne O Sahti was brewed in mid-September: “Mikael Dugge from Dugges visited us last week in an attempt to abolish the border between Sweden and Norway. The result is a Sahti brewed with rye and wheat, sea wormwood from the Swedish archipelago, juniper twigs from the Norwegian forests, honey from heather flowers in Telemark and three selected yeast strains form Belgium, Germany and Britain. There is actually some malt and hops added into it as well! This is Sahti the Norwegian and Swedish way – Sahti reinvented.”
The other beer is Sunturnbrew which I covered in January.
Illinois’ Two Brothers Brewing just updated their site yesterday: “We are getting ready to bottle 2008 Bare Tree Weiss Wine next week. We have been putting the finishing touches on the packaging and are in the process of getting it all here. This year we will be bottling it in 375ml champagne splits with a cork finish. It should be a beautiful package. Also, the smaller size bottle will make it easier to drink the whole thing, since the alcohol is around 11.5%.
Red Eye Porter will release again in 22oz bottles and draft late this week. If you did not have a chance to get some the first time, this will be your last chance. We packaged Monarch White, our anniversary ale, and it will be releasing to the stores on Monday March 16th.” Dog Days Dortmunder Lager arrives in late April.
On the Sierra Nevada Brewing front, an update from SierraNevadaBill: “Our Brown Saison will be out toward the end of March then we have our Belgian Tripel releasing the following quarter.
The next seasonal Summerfest should be out in April and Southern Hemisphere will be out in late April/early May.” I also noticed that Sierra Nevada Kellerweis, Southern Hemisphere Harvest, Kolsch, and Vienna-style Lager got draft label approvals yesterday. A lot happening for this brewery right now…
Last but not least, The Bruery announced that it will be debuting three new beers at this weekend’s St. Veronus Celebration at the brewery: Melange #3 which is a blend of “three unreleased bourbon barrel aged beers, including our Black Tuesday Imperial Stout, White Oak Wheat Wine, and Papier, our 1st Anniversary beer (an Old Ale),” an American Wild Ale called Cuvee Jeune, and White Zin which is a blend of Cuvee Jeune and Zinbier.
Just FYI: The Bruery’s Melange #3 already debuted (or was that a “sneak preview”?) at the BeerAdvocate Extreme Beer Fest “Night of the Barrels” on February 20. It was quite tasty, one of my favorites of the evening.
