(Kalamazoo, MI) – As some of you know, today marked one of the biggest beer days of the year in Michigan with the release of Bells Oberon. Any big fans here that went out and got some today? How does it taste this year?

Kalamabrew has been the top source for Oberon news over the past week. Last Monday, they threw out some interesting facts about the beer. Did you know Costco was the biggest buyer of Oberon in 2008 (26,000 cases) and are not purchasing it again this year due to price increases? Tough for those who were hoping to buy some there to save a buck or two. Bell’s should be ok though; the beer accounts for over half of its sales and my guess is that there are willing buyers for thousands of those cases in 2009.

Over this three-day span, there were/are 100 release parties around Michigan . . . all for this one craft beer. An incredible impact if you ask me.
