Goose Island Sofie, Juliet get approval

[Goose Island Beer Co. now has a brand-new website up. Looks great, lots of good info on there.]

(Chicago, IL) – Goose Island Beer Co., in addition to its Clybourn Heritage Series, has bottled two beers for the first time: Juliet and Saison Sofie. The following info is more or less taken straight off of the labels though I wrote a bit more about Juliet a while back:

Goose Island Juliet

Belgian-style ale aged in wine barrels with blackberries. 6.5% ABV and will develop in the bottle for up to five years.

Goose Island Sofie

Belgian-style Saison: 80% non-aged, 20% aged in wine barrels with orange peel. 6.5% ABV and will develop in the bottle for up to five years.

Couldn’t get anymore info out of Brewmaster, Greg Hall, in terms of release dates though the beers have been bottled for over a month now which would tell me these could be available sooner rather than later. However, he did mention the big Beer Advocate gathering tonight happening at the Clybourn Pub: “We won’t have Juliet and Sofie available tomorrow, but we will have several new beers and some guest beers. New beers include “Night Stalker” dry hopped imperial stout, return of Summertime Kolsch, a couple of suprises. In all, 18 beers will be on tap at the bar, a new Goose record.”

  1. These beers are so unique and delicious. Finally got to try a Sofie tonight. Been a BIG fan of Juliet for quite some time.
