Bangor Daily News reports that Atlantic Brewing has bought Bar Harbor Brewing in a move that will have implications on one of the better American Stouts out there on the market: Bar Harbor Cadillac Mountain Stout. It could mean that the beer will finally be available outside of Maine. Meanwhile, a bill to allow growler sales in Maine will go before the Senate in the near future.


Cigar City Brewing just bottled 110 cases of its Big Sound Scotch Ale for the Orlando/Tampa market.

Tomme Arthur and Jeff Bagby, Head Brewer at Pizza Port Carlsbad, represented Port Brewing at the most recent Sierra Nevada Beer Camp. The brewers got an up-close look at some of the major-scale equipment and helped create a recipe for a new 10.5% ABV Russian Imperial Stout. It will rest in single-malt scotch whisky barrels for a while and then be released only on draft later in the year.
