From reading comments online, Three Floyds Brewing did an excellent job with Dark Lord Day, anchored by the ticket process. Hopefully it went as well for the folks at FFF as it did for the hoards of beer people that went on Saturday. Check out the comments at Beer Advocate and RateBeer. Local blog, Hoosier Beer Geek, also has a wrap-up with some pics. This Flickr search will take you to more pictures from the day. (The picture above comes courtesy of Froboy on Flickr).
Hair of the Dog Brewing also held its Earth Day Sale on Saturday. In searching for comments on the Portland event, I found a few at RateBeer (seriously, couldn’t find one Portland beer blog that covered the event?). More importantly, I spotted an April 6 note from Alan that I hadn’t seen before: “Brewing the last batch of this year’s Flanders Red, I filled 6 French Oak barrels yesterday with the first half. This batch will be bottled in November of 2011.”
Fellow Oregonians, Deschutes Brewery releases a couple beers on Wednesday when Mirror Mirror Barley Wine returns and Red Chair IPA debuts. The Mirror Mirror bottles have been dipped in black wax.
A Beer Advocate local to Southern Tier Brewing reported last week that the brewery had just finished bottling Southern Tier Mokah. Last rumor was that it would go out to distributors by the end of April so hopefully that is the case here…
Southern Tier Mokah arrives 4/28 to our store.
