[6/9 Update here]
(Pleasantville, NY) – Captain Lawrence Brewing will release its Captain’s Reserve Imperial IPA for the first time in (500 mL) bottles. With another beer release in the works for this summer, this is probably coming down the road, just not anytime soon. The beer has earned a great deal of praise, racking up a 4.2 score at Beer Advocate after 100+ beer reviews and a 3.85 score at RateBeer.
According to the brewery’s website, the beer is made with Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops and hits the 80 IBU mark. Captain Lawrence could be next in line for the state’s best brewery medal, which will be announced at this weekend’s Tap NY Craft Beer Festival. Head Brewer, Scott Vaccaro, earned himself a silver medal with this beer at the 2007 fest.
The brewery has just released another beer, Little Linda’s Liquid, inconspicuously. One Twitterer reported buying several bottles of the very limited release earlier this month. Be on the lookout for Flaming Fury this summer.
The brewery celebrates its anniversary on May 16 with a pig roast party.
