(Lake Mills, WI) – From Tyranena‘s latest newsletter: “After a winter of Porters we decided to make it a summer of IPAs (mostly because mug clubber Steve complained so much). This year we are planning on making Scurvy (IPA brewed with orange peel – last summer’s Brewers Gone Wild! beer) our summer seasonal. It will be going in six packs at our regular six pack price (and draft price)… but it will still have the old Brewers Gone Wild! label (we couldn’t design a new label fast enough).
And our next Brewers Gone Wild! beer will be
Bitter Woman In The Rye
… an India Pale Ale brewed with rye malt. I so enjoyed the rye component of Dirty Old Man that we decided to brew an IPA with it… and it will be fun to torture Nevin by making him clean out the lauter tun with that sticky rye. We’ll be amping up the gravity a bit putting this beer somewhere between Bitter Woman and Hop Wh0re. And we’ll also be amping up the flavor and aroma hops as well (relative to Bitter Woman). The label was approved by the federal government today and we should have this available sometime in May.”
The brewery also announced last week that it got a distribution deal for Chicago and may be distributing to the upper half of Illinois as well. Look for bottles later this spring.
