[6/10: Labels are now posted! Beers were released on 6/6/09]
[5/12: Brewery rep has answered and these will be bottled in bombers!]

(Denver, CO) – Great Divide Brewing continues its assault on the beer landscape with more new beers as announced on the brewery blog late last week. The Denver brewery is in the midst of a renaissance with five new beer brands already released this year in bottles and possibly two more to add on to that. As to whether these will be bottled or not, an email out to the brewery went unanswered, but without further ado, the new brands are Chocolate Yeti and Double Wit.

Beer descriptions from the website . . .

Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti

We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

Double Wit

Our more muscular take on the beloved white ales of Belgium. Unmalted wheat and Belgian malted barley give the beer a light body and straw hue, while coriander and curaƧao provide the traditional notes of spice and light acidity. This cloudy, deceptively drinkable creation should be enjoyed without the addition of fruit.

The release party will be on Friday, May 29 from 6-8pm. “$15 admission includes the two new beers and food. No RSVP necessary, but valid ID is required for entry.”
