(Haverhill, MA) – Haverhill Brewery will soon release its second new beer in recent days with the debut of
Ascension Belgian IPA
. The beer, centered around Noble Saaz hops, is the first-ever to come in bombers from this little brewery. They brewed it on April 20. The label features the historic taphandles that you will find at the actual brewpub . . . yes, those are shoes.
Haverhill also just released Home Run American Pale Ale in bottles last Tuesday.
You can now follow Haverhill Brewery on Twitter as well as become a fan of the brewery on Facebook. Visit the Twitter page for more breweries to check out.
OK, so this might be among the most amusing or the most confused products ever to come to market.
The folks at Haverhill are claiming this to be “Belgian Style” and an “IPA”.
Yet, the Belgians never brewed pale ales for export to India.
Belgian-style implies open air fermentation.
The laughs follow when on the label when we read “the highest quality French malts…”.
Wouldn’t that make this a French Style beer?
There are a lot of Belgian IPAs out on the market. Is this an American categorization? Do the Belgian brewers themselves that make ‘them’ like Brasserie La Chouffe don’t call them Belgian IPAs?
